quality control issue

Product arrived with two non-shipping related dents that are not an issue with me. The shipping container did not reflect damage where those dents are. However, someone had used a sharpie like pen, marked off the area that would be cut out for ductless operation, and had butchered an opening in it with snips leaving sharp edges. I used the knockout for rear wall venting, (I removed it), and closed up the area that had been snipped out venting forward to kitchen space. Product comes with a useless plastic piece intended to block such an opening. Once I made this modification, the range hood operates fine.

When I removed the unit from the package I thought it looked great, just what I wanted. But when i looked at the underside i was shocked to see all the electrical wiring exposed in the right side area of the unit. Also, I will need to wire a short power cord to reach the 110 outlet; maybe this is normal for installing a new or replacement unit. A cover plate was included to cover the wiring but it is a gray color and not stainless steel, so it doesn't match the unit. The supplied backflow damper is flimsy and wouldn't block very much cold air coming down the vent. For the price I was expecting more quailty than I received.

For a low cost hood this one works very well. It was put together well. The curved design is very stylish.
