glad i chose this fan

Although i was hoping for a hood that had controls on the underside and these are on the front, i am very, very pleased with this purchase. The design is sleek, and the operation of the fan is good -- has 4 settings, most often we use 2, occasionally 3. 3 and 4 are noisier, yes, and they have good draw. With 2, i've sometimes forgotten the fan is on, it's so quiet! The lights have 3 settings, and both light and fan controls remember where they were when you shut them off, if you have a favorite setting -- cool! A very pretty, very functional hood, and in my opinion a very good value.

3 Units arrived damaged from Amazon

NOTE - This review is based on the unit as ordered through Amazon, not the unit in general. I ended up getting it from another source and it was perfect.I ordered this unit through Amazon since I needed it the next day and Amazon could get it to me. However, the first unit arrived damaged. The box was in fine condition, but the unit itself was severely damaged on the right, front side. It looks like it was dropped on the corner, mangling it beyond repair. Amazon replaced it with a 2nd unit that was damaged in the exact same place. This unit was also replaced with a 3rd unit that was damaged worse than the first 2 units. All three had the damage in the exact same place.I'm guessing the damage came from the manufacturer and not Amazon since the boxes were in tact.After the 3rd unit, I did not order another one from Amazon. However I was able to get one from another source and that one arrived in perfect condition. Installation was a breeze and it looks fabulous.
