The RIGHT Range Hood For Us

The Broan QP230SS (after quite a bit of research) turned out to be an excellent choice for us. I was impressed with the low noise of the fan, even on high. Installation was a bit of a challenge. If you're handy and have the proper tools you should have no problem. Our fan is exhausted on an outside wall. The exhaust port and the power outlet were already there from the prior microwave oven mount so it was just a matter of connecting the new hood to them. Be advised that the hood's 5 mounting screws are only 3/4" long. I replaced them with slightly longer screws as the bottom of the cabinet was recessed 1" and needed to be furred out.We saved over $100 by purchasing this through Amazon. I had several questions on installation and received prompt answers by calling Broan's customer service number. We have no hesitation in recommending this product if you're venting it outside. I'm sure it would be quite a bit noisier if it was vented inside.

Broan QP230SS Evolution 2 Range Hood is all we expected.

This range hood is not only attractive but also does a great job! It extends over all the eyes on our ceramic cooktop to effectively remove heat, steam etc. from the kitchen. We like the fact that the surface on the underside is smooth and level, and that the 4 lights can be adjusted in brightness according to need. There is certainly plenty of light for whatever is needed! We were somewhat concerned that the lights might be TOO bright for comfort after reading some of the reviews, but I think if the hood is installed at a proper height above the cooktop (as ours is) the brightness is not a problem at all. At any rate adjusting the intensity to a low level should help that situation if necessary. The hood is all we expected after being installed several weeks now.
