I ordered this elegant looking Cavaliere Wall Mount Range Hood from another web site. The hood came well packaged and in two large boxes. Amazon didn't sell it at that time, otherwise I would order from Amazon.I did lots of internet searching looking for the right range hood, but kept coming back to this one due to the 900 CFM Centrifugal blower and the curved glass. Electronic buttons did not make difference in my selection. I would actually prefer regular buttons for the simplicity and operational reliability.The Installation Manual is omitting a lot of information about the installation, it is basically useless. It does not even specify power plug location other than a 35W breaker size with a USA/Canada code. This is not sufficient info for a person who did not install an Euro style range hood before. I ended up installing the plug between the 6" duct tube and the stainless steel chimney enclosure mounted per the electrical code to the drywall. The plug supposed to be accessible. Removing the top screws of the installed SS chimney together with the SS chimney could/should be considered as accessible. The power wire is not visible this way and makes the Range Hood look professionally installed. Our kitchen has soffits. This made the installation little more complicated. We had to cut one of the lower SS chimney wall shorter to make it fit under the soffit; and to meet the minimum 28" vertical distance of the hood from the stove. We did not install the upper SS chimney at all.Venting the range hood into an attic is not recommended. This was another challenge for us as the original hood was venting into an attic (house was built in 1950's).The unit by itself is heavy and should to be attached to 2x4's with 4" screws to avoid vibration noise. Don't attach the unit to drywall with the included sheet rock fasteners only. They are to be put into a wall to hold the hood while mounting it. I used 3" #10 cabinet screws for the attachment to 2x4's. Most likely you won't hit two separate studs with the existing holes on the main mounting plate/back plate. The mounting plate is attached permanently to the hood already and makes it more difficult to drill a second mounting hole in another vertical place. I had to take some parts off the hood off to be able to drill the second hole for a proper attachment to the 2x4's. I used special drill bits to drill the hole. Even doing that bulged out the back panel of the hood slightly. I hope this won't become a problem in the future.The two supplied SS chimneys attach to the kitchen wall via Chimney mounting brackets. The bracket is not one piece as in the Manual, but 2 pieces instead. I would prefer one piece bracket that could be attached to a 2x4 for better support; which did not happen. Again, I hope this will not become a problem in the future. The SS chimney walls aren't that heavy, I just wonder if it won't get loose in the future.My other half and me both like a good craftsmanship and try to install everything properly for the products to be enjoyed without problems that could pop up later due to an improper installation.Anyway, I called the 800 phone number about the different Chimney mounting brackets and let me tell you, the young man representing the company was very rude right from the beginning. He said: "Do you see another part in the box that is not in the Manual?" And he went on with more upnosed comments and replies. So I asked him to drop the disrespectful insulting attitude. I also told him that the Manual for the hoods need to be updated to show the correct hardware included in the package. Not everybody has money to get a Wall Mounted Hood installed by a professional.The lights used in this unit seem to be warm white version of a dimmable MR16 35W halogen bulbs. It is not strong/bright enough to really see into the pots while cooking. I need to see what I am cooking, not just to have an accent light on the back of kitchen wall. My other half is using it for an early morning light to make a coffee in dimmed light conditions, it is just fine for that. I will be looking into it if I can replace them with cool warm lights or anything else to make the lights brighter. I just wish the lights would be in the front to create a centered illumination of the stove. The island hood model has the lights in the front.The light button is so sensitive to a touch, you don't have to even press it. I hope it will not brake in the future while it is too sensitive to my taste. The other buttons are fine and you have to press them just a tiny bit to activate a function.We are overall very happy with its gorgeous look and the smooth fan function. We hope the hood will be pleasing us day after day in our newly remodeled kitchen.PROS:Seems to be quality craftsmanship Range HoodHood is running very smoothly in all 6 speeds.Gorgeously looking hood.Good price for 900 CFMCONS:The lights are very weak and too yellow, they are only accent lights flickering in certain cooking conditions.Poor Installation ManualPS: As I was looking on the internet for a better installation manual I found out that this Cavaliere model is also being sold under name SPAGNA VETRO 30-inch Wall-Mounted Stainless Steel Glass Range Hood - SV218D-30.If you need better lights and positioned in the front of the hood instead against the wall, get an Electrolux RH30WC60GS model with 600 CFM. The Installation, the Parts, and the dimensions PDF for the Electrolux model is also much more in detail than Cavaliere. But the price is not as good though.UPDATE after 3 months of use:While using this vent hood we found a glitch with the lights. They are flickering in 3 different strengths while boiling water/fluids or heavier steaming on the front burners of a glass stove top. Fan setting on top speed #6 won't stop it.This is very annoying and could be due to the buttons not being sealed properly. I read about this problem on the cheap models and thought that this double priced model would not have this issue. I was very wrong. I hope I can find an answer to this problem on the internet so I can fix it. The light button is so sensitive to a touch; you don't have to even press it. Is it maybe that these buttons are made not to be touched, but your finger is sort of scanned as on the new PC monitors? It this is the case, I am surprised that someone even thought to design them on a vent hood. I hope it will not brake in the future while it is too sensitive to my taste. The other buttons are fine and you have to press them just a tiny bit to activate a function.If the lights stop flickering on the lowest strength, just put your finger on the button, hold and wait for the correct brightness to be selected.UPDATE after 6 months of use:The lights flickering - what a fun. If I do a stir-fry or a larger amount of water boiling on the front burner, the light will turn themselves on even I did not had them on. And the flickering starts with it. My other half just makes a comment: "You activated the disco lights again?!"

I just received the shipment from the vendor 5 days ago, and had it installed 3 days ago. And this product was installed in my house by a certified contractor and ever since I have nothing but complete headache due to this. This product is supposed to be brand new, but the circuit board in this range hood keeps on tripping my circuit board at my home. I paid a highly qualified/certified contractor to install this unit in my house, and paid over $600 for the job, and after just 1 day of installment I had the contractor come to my house again, and have him see why my circuit board keeps on tripping because I first thought something must be wrong with a way this unit was installed. But when the contractor checked all the outlets, and the circuit board in my house to check to make sure the unit was not asking for my voltage/amp then the circuit board can support. But when we I managed to turn on this unit, it was only using 1.6 amp of electric, and the circuit board can support up to 15 amps. So it had nothing to do with amp extraction or any grounding. So the problem is with the circuit board which is in the unit, and it keeps on tripping the circuit board in my house. I will contact the vendor now, and have him either send me another unit or refund my money, and have him also pay for the money which I paid to the contractor. But not sure how far I’ll get with that but, one thing is for sure, I am not going to ever buy anything from Amazon or any other website again, and just try my luck with physical stores in the area…..
